Royal Caribbean’s VOOM Internet is the fastest at sea, but the way you buy it can make a huge difference in what you pay.

When you go into the Cruise Planner, you’ll see options for number of guests and number of devices. What most people don’t realize is that the same total number of devices can cost more or less depending on how you buy it.

Example: 4-Night Sailing Pricing

Here’s the actual pricing from a recent sailing:

Devices1 Guest2 Guests
1 Device$92$184 (2 total devices)
2 Devices$148 (2 total devices)$296 (4 total devices)
3 Devices$208
4 Devices$268 (4 total devices)

Where the Savings Happen

Two Devices

  • Buying 2 devices for Guest 1 = $148
  • Buying 1 device for Guest 1 + 1 device for Guest 2 = $184
Savings: $36 by putting both devices under one guest.

Four Devices

  • Buying 4 devices for Guest 1 = $268
  • Buying 2 devices for Guest 1 and 2 = $296
Savings: $28 by buying all 4 devices under one guest.

Why This Works

Royal Caribbean prices internet by how many devices each person can connect at the same time and the per-device cost is lower when all devices are assigned to one person. You can still share those devices between people by logging out on one and logging in on another.

How to Share Between Guests

  • Only the number of devices listed can be online at once.
  • You can log out on one device and log in on another instantly.
  • Works between staterooms if you’re traveling together.

Bottom Line

Before you click “Add to Cart” in the Cruise Planner, check whether buying multiple devices under one person is cheaper than spreading them out across your travel party. The savings can be big: in this example, up to $36 for the same number of devices.

Pro Tip: Always book internet before you sail for the best price, and keep checking . If it drops, cancel and rebook at the lower rate.
